What is Soccer Tactics Simulator?

Soccer Tactics Simulator lets you place your team, the opposing team, and the ball on a vertical pitch, then move them at each frame (moment) of the bottom timeline. The frames connect automatically into a moving tactic animation. You can rotate each player's facing direction, and drag the yellow dot on a movement path to switch from a straight run to a curved one. Every tactic auto-saves in your browser, can be exported as a .json file to share with or load from other coaches, and where supported can also be saved as .mp4 video. It's a free tool you open straight in the browser with no sign-up and no install.

How to use it

First pick a frame (moment) with the ◀ ▶ buttons at the bottom right or the slider below. At that moment, drag players and the ball to where you want them; the frame auto-saves the instant you let go. Move to the next frame and shift positions again — repeat, and the two frames connect into an animation. Use the ▶ play button to review the movement, and change playback speed and looping in Settings. When you only want to record the current moment as a keyframe without moving anything, press the ➕ button.

Frequently asked questions

Where are the tactics I make saved?
As you edit, each tactic auto-saves to the local storage of the browser you're using. Open the same browser again and the last tactic you were viewing opens as-is; pick another tactic from the library and it saves to that one. It isn't shared with other devices or browsers, so to move a tactic, export it as a .json file.
Can I make a player's run curved?
Yes. When you move a player, the movement path shows as a dashed line, and dragging the yellow dot on that line makes the run curved. Double-click the yellow dot to go back to a straight line.
I can't save video (.mp4).
Video export isn't supported in the browser, so it doesn't appear in the menu. On the web only .json save/load and auto-save are supported. Video saving is available in the Android, iOS, and macOS apps.
The screen looks narrow.
This tool uses a vertical pitch, so the layout is tall. You can zoom and pan inside the frame with your fingers (or mouse wheel / pinch), and to use it larger, open the frame in a new tab.
Do I need to sign up?
No. You can use it straight in the browser with no sign-up or login, and the tactics you enter are not sent to any server.
